Hundreds of thousands of dogs, both pure-bred and mixed breed dogs are put down every year in shelters and pounds across Australia.
Breed Rescue groups are formed by individuals (usually breeders) who assist in the rescue and re-homing of abandoned pure bred dogs.
Breed Rescue groups desex animals, and microchip prior to placement, they assess the temperaments and evaluate the individual dogs needs prior to placement and place with a written adoption contract. The dogs are placed in approved homes, and rescuers work closely with adoptive families before and after the adoption, to ensure they can become the family members they were meant to be.
If you have a Purebreed dog and are looking to surrender as you are unable to keep it, please contact the Breeder first!
If you are looking for a Breed Rescue contact that doesn't currently have any contacts listed, please feel free to contact me and I will try and put you into contact with someone who is able to help (or advise) with your particular breed request, CLICK HERE TO CONTACT ME.
My aim for this page is to make available an Australia wide contact list for Breed Rescuers. If you would like to be listed here to ensure the dogs of your breeding or breed are supported in their time of need, please fill out and submit the form by clicking here
